Joseph, Faith & Eve

Faith's 5th Birthday

>> Tuesday, January 21, 2014

Faith turned five years old on January 4th!

She was really blessed this year to have her Nammy & Papa here to celebrate with her!

She also got several different celebrations this year because the Christmas Reading had to be scheduled on her actual birthday. The day after her birthday was her big party at her school!!

It all started on Thursday (the last day of the school week). Tim's Mom, Joseph, and I went to the preschool to decorate for the party. The party would be on Sunday (the first day of the school week).

It was nice to have the decorating all finished! Plus, it gave Faith and her friends something to look forward to over the weekend!
The next thing we did was make Faith's Cinderella birthday cake. This was fun to do together with Tim's mom!
As a family we went out for a nice dinner at a Hibachi grill to celebrate our girl turning five!
The chef who cooked our food in front of us was really sweet to Faith. He even made this with the fried rice. It says "I <3 U Faith"

We went with a group of American friends to the new Disney Princess movie, Frozen! Faith loved doing this with her friends!
Here we are in the theater. We took up almost an entire row!
Then on Sunday morning Faith put on her special party dress and got ready for her party at her preschool!
She really wanted to play Pin the Tail on the Donkey again this year. The Arab kids really enjoyed playing this game too!
Then the kids played musical chairs, which was so much fun! Faith came in second place to her best friend at school. It was cute to hear Faith tell Zainab "Mabrook!" which means "congratulations"
The class gathered around the table to sing happy birthday in Arabic and English.
I lit the sparkler candles while we sang to her.
I like this picture of Tim's mom serving the kids cake and ice cream! What a special memory that she was there with us!
At one point I looked over and had to snap a picture of Faith's huge smile! There's nothing in the world as great as seeing your kids happy! :)

Faith gave her friends some little gift bags and Tim's mom was showing the girls how to turn their little lanterns on.
I don't think this picture does it justice, but Faith is so blessed with these little girls in her class. They way they interact with each other is so sweet!
